I screwed up today and accidentally invited all 157K users on the waitlist. By the time I shut down the emails and killed the process - around 20K  had been invited...🤦🏼‍♂️

In the future, looking back, I will try and frame this as part of a 3 dimensional chess move but, in reality, it's just old fashion stupidity. 

Important lesson here - never ascribe a ill intent or a conspiracy theory to something that can be easily explained by stupidity...

But, so far, the systems are holding up extremely well🤞. Assuming they stay like this, we can measure the operations/support/moderation impact per 1000 users and get an idea of how fast we can invite more users from the waitlist - both technically and operationally - without hurting the service.

Our goal is to let as many people as possible in as fast as possible without degrading the service too much.
