More #Brooklyn Springtime. Multicolored cherry blossoms (blurry because it's so windy). There used to be lilac bushes in just about every yard around here. Then there was some sort of lilac blight, and now my favorite flower is hard to find. Spring in #Brooklyn . Cherry blossoms, and a little gingko tree. Chilly and windy today, but the sky is brilliantly clear, and the sun is blinding. Here is one of our new plantings, doing just fine. Kylie posted a happy #Caturday photo on Blue Sky (where I am still Very Olympia, as veryolympia.bsky.social). But she hasn't forgotten her Postie friends. Looking at this demure photo (from my new phone -- so much better) one might never guess the battleground we live in with her. Well, some might guess. #cats #catsofpost Two more out of state cars are now parked on the same street as the first three I posted earlier today. There are always out of state plates in every neighborhood in #Brooklyn . I'm in the habit of making a mental list of them, a thing kids did when I was a girl and the sight of They all come to #Brooklyn , even if it's a long drive. I've actually seen a car with a Hawaii plate parked on our "high street". (The teacher in the local ballet school is from Hilo; probably an ambitious relative visiting.) These three cars are parked on the same block near m A new nest way up high. Probably squirrels; it's huge and has leaves on the outside. The birds generally wait for more leaf growth before they start construction. #Brooklyn Someone is really serious about keeping dogs away from the tree. #Brooklyn Miss Kylie seemed at loose ends this morning, so I pulled out a bag of small toys that belonged to the late Monty the Magic Black Cat. Kylie was enchanted. She gets to play with these every once in a while, and they are some of the few toys she doesn't disdainfully push away. ( #Brooklyn in bloom. A few of the lovely sights I encountered on my way to CVS this morning. And some Easter treats from Cuccio's bakery, one of the few "real" Italian bakeries left in this part of Bklyn. Anyone else on the Affordable Connectivity Program? A godsend internet subsidy, thanks to our President.
