Biden Removal by Death or Impeachment?
We all heard that #LaurenBoebert prayed that President Biden's "days be few and another take his office." Media headlines shouted "Boebert prays for Biden's Death!"
I thought, surely not. Boebert must have meant Biden's removal from office, by impeachment. I looked into it. The headlines were right!
#LaurenBoebert spoke at a SALT Conference (Spiritual and Leadership Training), held at Storehouse Church in Dallas, #Texas. She prayed for Biden to be removed from office.
By impeachment, or by death? Well... she quoted from Psalm 109:8. Here is the entire verse:
"May his days be few; may another take his place of leadership. May his children be fatherless and his wife a widow. May his children be wandering beggars; may they be driven from their ruined homes. May a creditor seize all he has; may strangers plunder the fruits of his labor." (Italics mine.)
Though Boebert did mention "impeachment" in her talk, it absolutely sounds as though she prayed for God to take that second-rate solution out of her hands.
I have never heard such a childish, self-absorbed, mean-spirited, and reckless use of Biblical scripture. More than that, Boebert's words were a dangerous exhibition of stochastic terrorism.
I suspect the Storehouse Church, host of the SALT conference, is one of those "independent" churches. Meaning, they are not under the correctional guidance of a larger denomination or convention. (Nor are they obligated to share offerings with a parent organization.)
It is time to direct censorship at these loose-cannon outfits. It should come from the leadership of American mainline Christian churches, and the IRS. Preaching political partisanship and terrorism, for God's sake, is not allowed!
