Art Vs. Business
I'm seeing a lot of discouragement among the artists I know right now. When there's so much upheaval within creative fields, it can be difficult to sustain an artistic practice. For me, it's essential to emotionally separate my art from business . Here are a few concrete ways I do "But what? Everyone I know has a big but. C'mon, Simone, let's talk about your big but." It's been a little while since we did a #WIPWednesday . What are you working on right now, and how is it going? I'm in writing mode, working on my next picture book theme song and sketching out ideas for other upcoming projects. I haven't incorporated much play into my routine late I'm so sad to learn about the loss of @algiordano . I first became familiar with his work as an independent journalist when I was in college. I'm still coming down from a wonderful trip to London. We stayed with our dear friends who are living there for a couple of years, and we loved getting to know their neighborhood. Writing music! I have a composing deadline, and it feels so great to shift out of "nothing but promo" mode. And yet, doing some promo. I'm still supporting Fractured as much as possible in its first month of release.
