Board Member, Mentor, Recently Retired Nonprofit CEO

San Francisco Bay Area

I led Girl Scouts of Northern California as CEO, from 2007-2022, serving a diverse membership of over 25,000 girls and 16,000 adult volunteers in 19 counties. Before that, I was an attorney with, and for eight years the Managing Partner of, Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP, an international law firm. During my time as Managing Partner, our team negotiated and implemented two of the largest law firm mergers in the United States and established a diversity program that earned top rankings from Working Mother, Human Rights Campaign and other national publications. I am on the Board of Directors of Heritage Bank of Commerce, and Chair the Personnel and Compensation Committee, and also serve on the Audit and Corporate Governance Committees. The San Francisco Business Times recognized me with the Most Influential Women In Business Award seven times, and in 2015 the San Francisco Business Times recognized me as the Most Admired Nonprofit CEO. Right now, I am most proud of my marriage, three adult children, and the work we did at Girl Scouts to connect youth to nature and to nurture diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging for all girls and gender expansive youth.
