Took me many years to "get it." 🧡 I like to think that all animals love me, but they don't always express it how I'd hope they would. 🤪 Some funny moments from when I recently visited animal sanctuaries in Mexico. 🤣🥲 When you're visiting an animal sanctuary and you can't stop kissing all of the animals. 🤣 (dog rescued by Huerta Vida Digna in Mexico) A funny, slightly aggro, yet simple way of stating the case for #veganism . Why show love and compassion for some animals (cats and dogs), yet turn a blind eye to immense cruelty to other animals (chickens and fish and pigs and cows)? 🤔 This is a "spiked mouth block." 😱
It's designed to wean the calf by being so painful for the mother #cow that she'll push her baby away to avoid the pain. The welfare of farm animals in today’s industrialized system is not a priority to those who view them as only profits. 💔 These cows are innocent. Yet their fate is to be slaughtered. 😢 That's where I met them alongside CDMX Animal Save as this truck pulled up to a Mexico City slaughterhouse. 💔 I wish I could save them, but I know that their faces will make people reconsider their food choices. What an honor it was to team up with CDMX AnimalSave outside a slaughterhouse in Mexico City. They are doing heroic work in a grim situation. I'm still haunted by something I saw while bearing witness as the cows arrived to be slaughtered: One cow's face was covered in blood. 💔 We are witnessing change
