Hallmark #54 Happy Hanukkah

In my youth of goyim homes

lit green or white or red

Cold winter nights

meant twinkling brights,

left plain just not widespread

A neighbor lit blue monochrome

meant othered faith homestead

As did their rites

prayered menorah lights

vs. our tree and gingerbread

A minor rite for Israe
