What terrified him most about the verdict this week? Was it that $83M puts him in a deeper financial hole than he’s letting on? Was it the optics and how to explain his guilt to the electorate? Was it the prospect of more financial penalties and the impact to his businesses? I think What to say to someone who recently got clobbered for $83M: 1. Acknowledge the loss (“Geez, that was a lot of money”) 2. Offer comfort (“I’m sure your crazy cult will bail you out…again”) 3. Share a memory (“Hey, remember when you were rich and on the Forbes list?”) 4. Tell them how Donald Trump sexually assaulted E. Jean Carroll. He was found liable in a court of law.
